The Benicia Knitting Circle opened August 28, 2004. The partners, Giovanna Sensi-Isolani and Ellen Blaufarb, retired from their careers in education in June of 2004 to begin this retail specialty yarn shop. Bringing with them a wealth of experience teaching all age groups they began their venture offering classes for young and old alike. These classes filled quickly, especially the beginning knitter classes. These beginner knitting classes succeeded in growing new knitters who learned to knit in the first class, to purl in the second class and to do many variations of stitches in the third class in the series. Besides the teaching experience of both Giovanna and Ellen, they love the beautiful yarns and fibers that are available to create awesome, individual creations. Every day is like Christmas in the shop as customers as well as the owners open a shipment of yarn to the delight of all. Every day is an adventure at the popular Benicia Knitting Circle.
